Repertoire
At Tron Songsters, the children learn a range of music, from well-known songs to world music, classical and musical theatre. There is an emphasis on Orff, Kodaly based learning, with many canons and short part songs learnt to develop the musical ear of each child.
While piano, ukelele, guitar and percussion are used for accompaniment, the children also practise unaccompanied singing, both in unison and multiple part harmony.
Collaboration
At the Tron Songsters Children's Choir we bring together children from a variety of schools, creating a space for collaboration and the development of relationships beyond their usual school setting.
This approach not only nurtures individual musical growth but also allows the children to be part of the wider musical community in the Waikato.
